IX. Competition Methods
(I) Race shall comply with the latest Rules and Regulations for Athletics approved by Chinese Athletic Association.

(II) Roll-call: Runners shall register separately according to the events in the scheduled time. National Team Runners shall register in special area in Fubo Cutural Park 40 minutes before the race. National Team Runners who fail to provide the original passport will be disqualified.

(III) Start order: Runners will start in the order of Marathon, Quarter Marathon and Mini Marathon. The starting point of each event is 5-10 m apart. Elite runners will run in front of other.
(IV) Starting gun: Start the race by firing a single shot.
(V) Timing Chip

1．The Marathon will time for runners through timing chips.

2．Induction timing chips, supplied by the Organizing Committee, will be available to all Marathon and Quarter Marathon runners. The disposable timing chip will be distributed with other completing goods before the race and will not be recycled.

3. Marathon runners must wear the timing chip for recording results. Transponder timing chips are adopted, so runners must go through all timing blankets, which are respectively placed at every 5 km points (including the starting point and the finishing point). Final score will be null if any of the time points is missed. Except of the timing point at the starting point, final score of the player will be null if the error of two timing sensors at other time points is less than 0.1 second.

4．The Organizing Committee will not provide timing chips for the runners of Mini Marathon. Therefore, runners of Mini Marathon need to fill out their results showed by the timer at the finish line.

(VI) Closing Time

To ensure the safety of runners and the success of the race, race route will be closed to vehicles within a certain time. Closing time will be set in each race route being closed to vehicles, and vehicles can enter these routes after the deadline of closing time. Runners shall cease the race and leave the route immediately if they fail to complete the race within the time limit in case of accidents, and they will take the bus provided by the Organizing Committee to the finish line of the corresponding event.
Notes: The Organizing Committee reserves the right to make race routes closed to vehicles ahead of time or stop the race under emergencies or irresistible incidents.

Closing Time

(VII) Personal Belongings Storage

1.        Marathon and Quarter Marathon runners shall reserve their personal belongings according to their race numbers and claim their clothes in corresponding areas after reaching the finish line. Do not keep valuables in bags, such as mobile phones, valid documents, cash, palmtops and credit cards. Runners shall bear the consequences of the damage or loss of valuables.

2.        The deadline for storing the personal belongings is 15 minutes before the race. After the race, runners shall claim the belongings before 15:00, or get it back at OC Office of China-ASEAN Marathon (Hongshulin Building East Tower 15 Floor, Fangchenggang City, Guangxi Zhuang Region) on the next day. Unclaimed items will be disposed by the Organizing Committee 5 days later.

3.        No personal belongings storage service for runners participating in Mini Marathon.

(VIII) Beverage, Drinking Water and Food Supply Stations
     Beverage Station: There will be one beverage supply station every 5 kilometers starting from the starting line;

Drinking Water/Water Supply Station: There will be one drinking water/water supply station every 5 kilometers after 7.5km point (between two neighboring beverage supply stations);

Food Supply Station: There will be respectively one food supply station at 20km, 25 km, 30 km, 35 km and 40 km.

(IX) Toilet
    Toilets will be set up in start area and finish area and along the route by the Organizing Committee.

(X) Medical Aid Services

1. The Organizing Committee will set up a medical aid spot every 2.5 km along the Marathon route and assign volunteers to give medical aid and maintain race order. Runners may seek help from them for any problem.

2. The medical expenses of runners and groups during the race shall be borne by their own.

(XI) Doping Test

Runners will be required to receive the doping test by the Organizing Committee. All samples will be detected by Beijing laboratory which is identified by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

X. Participation Requirement
(I) Participant Age Requirements

1．Marathon: Those who are over 20 years old (born in and before 1997) and have healthy bodies for marathon.

2．Quarter Marathon: Those who are over 16 years old (born in and before 2001) and have healthy bodies for marathon.

3．Mini Marathon: Those who are over 13 years old (born in and before 2004) and have healthy bodies.

(II) Participant Physical Condition Requirements

Marathon is an athletic sport of high risk and great intensity over long distances. Thus, it raises high demands on participant physical conditions. Participants should be in good health and long-term running or training experiences. Participants may choose among the contests of Marathon, Quarter Marathon, Mini Marathon according to their own physical conditions and actual abilities.

Patients suffering from the following diseases shall not take part in the contest:

1．Congenital heart disease and rheumatic heart disease.

2．Hyper tension and cranial vascular disease.

3．Myocarditis and other heart diseases.

4．Coronary artery disease and serious cardiac arrhythmia.

5．Hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia diabetic.

6．Pregnant woman.

7．Patients with other diseases unfit for sports.

Notes: If runners get lost in physical or financial terms because of factors above, runners will be borne the risks caused by it. The China-ASEAN Marathon Organizing Committee recommends strongly that participants should do physical examination by formal medical institutions (include ECG) and each participant is physically qualified for marathon.
Notes: The race routes, beverage service stations and the toilets are not available for wheelchairs, baby carriages, skaters or other special people. The Organizing Committee will disqualify the people mentioned above for the sake of their personal safety.

Participants who under 18 years old can not collect competition goods without Competition Statement signed by their guardians.
(III) Registration

1、China-ASEAN Marathon can accommodate 12,000 runners,

1)        including 4,000 runners for Marathon,

2)        2,000 runners for Quarter Marathon and

3)        6,000 runners for Mini Marathon.

(IV) Time for Registration

Individuals and group runners are required to fill the registration information on the official website of Taiyuan Marathon and submit it between 8:30 on August 28 (Monday) and 17:00 on Octobor 20 (Friday).

Elite clubs’ registration will start at 8:30 August 28 (Monday) to 17:00 Octobor 9 (Monday).

(V) Method of Registration

1. On-line registration: Individual runners, group runners and elite clubs can register on the website of China-ASEAN Marathon or on the official WeChat page.

NOTE: Group runners can only register for Mini Marathon.

2. Off-line consulting:

The OC will set up off-line information office, providing consultant and help of on-line registration to runners.

3. Elite Clubs Registration

The OC will invite elite running clubs from ASEAN countries to compete in marathon category. Elite group awards will be given the winner club.

4. Participants must read and agree on Competition Statement, Registration Information and Insurance Notice. The procedure will be done after submitting required information and paying fees. After the close of registration, please go on website （www.china-aseanmarathon.com）to download Registration Confirmation, and check the procedure of goods collection.

5. Please pay attention to Registration Information for 2017 China-ASEAN International Marathon on official website (www.china-aseanmarathon.com)for detailed registration method, registration procedure and instruction to application.

6. Once the application is completed, any competition event shall not be changed. Registration fees will not be refunded to applicants giving up the race.

7. The Organizing Committee will inform the applicants who apply successfully to check the race number.

(VI) Payment for Registration Fees and Distribution of Goods
1. Standard for registration fees. Unit: RMB/USD (See table below):

2. Elite Runners will be invited directly by the Organizing Committee to the marathon. No on-line registration is needed.

3. The entry fees of the elite runners will be covered by the Organizing Committee.

4. Qualified participants need to collect the competing goods in the location designated by the Organizing Committee. Please check the official website of China-ASEAN Marathon (www.china-aseanmarathon.com)for specific date and location.

5.The Organizing Committee is entitled to refuse to distribute the competing goods and refund the registration fees to unqualified runners providing false registration information.

(VII) Payment Terms

1. Domestic Payment: Union Pay, Alipay, WeChat

(VIII) Invoice

The regulation of invoice will be issued and published soon.

IX. Admission Rankings and Prizes

(I) Marathon

1.        Ranking Award: The prize money will be granted according to the race time. Top 30 male and female runners will be awarded with ranking prize respectively according to 2017 relevant provisions of Chinese Athletic Association.

NOTE: We will not give the prize at the spot. All prize winners are required to take the valid ID cards to Prize Distribution Office and go through the procedures. If the runners fail the doping test, he or she will be disqualified, and the following rankings will not be increased.

2.        In addition to the cash prizes, runners will also get the prizes and souvenirs as follows:

3.        Top 3 runners will attend the award giving ceremony after collecting personal belongings.

 (II) Quarter Marathon

1.        Ranking Award (in RMB):

NOTE: We will not give the prize at the spot. All prize winners are required to take the valid ID cards to Prize Distribution Office and go through the procedures. If the runners fail the doping test, he or she will be disqualified, and the following rankings will not be increased.

2.        In addition to the cash prizes, runners will also get the prizes and souvenirs as follows:

3.        After collecting personal belongings, the top 3 runners of Quarter Marathon shall take the bus designated by the Organizing Committee to the finish line of Marathon. The top 3 runners will be qualified to attend the Awarding Ceremony.

 (III) Elite Runners Ranking

1. Ranking

Elite Runner Award will be given to the elite running clubs invited by the OC from 10 ASEAN countries. Each country will appoint a team with minimum 10 runners including at least 1 female runner. The final ranking will be decided according to the total time of the 10 runners.

2. Requirement

The result of elite runners will be decided by the chip timing. Time of the top 9 runners from each team plus the time of the first female finisher from the same team will be the result of this team. The missing of female runner’s result or result from any timing sections will cause a disqualification.

(IV) Citizen Award

1. Citizen Award competing is open to citizens of Fangchenggang City. Decided by the chip timing, first 6 male and female runners will be awarded.

NOTE: We will not give the prize on site. All prize winners are required to take the valid ID cards or passport to Prize Distribution Office and go through the procedures. If the runners fail the doping test, he or she will be disqualified, and the following rankings will not be increased.

（V）Group Award

1. Ranking

There should be minimum 5 runners from each group competing in marathon and minimum 5 in quarter marathon. The group could get in the rankings only when 10 runners finish their competition. The total time of the 10 runners will decide the final ranking.

2. Requirement

The result will be decided by the chip timing. The group could get in ranking only after the last runner from the group finishes. Missing of record in any timing section will cause a disqualification.

Ranking Prize: (in CNY)

NOTE: We will not give the prize on site. All prize winners are required to take the valid ID cards or passport to Prize Distribution Office and go through the procedures. If the runners fail the doping test, he or she will be disqualified, and the following rankings will not be increased. The group will be suspended permanently if found imposture.

NOTE:

1. Prize winner can only receive the highest prize if he/she won multiple awards

2. According to the law of China, 20% tax of the prize will be deducted.

(VI) Mini Marathon

There will be no prize money for mini marathon runners, only one memorial medal will be provided.

(VII) The day after racing day, Marathon runners and Quarter Marathon runners shall check the results and print transcripts from the official website of China-ASEAN International Marathon www.china-aseanmarathon.com.

(VIII) All the prizes will be transferred to prize winners through the reserved bank accounts ten days after the results being published.

* (Prize winners involved in the doping test will receive their prizes after the test results come out)

XII. Penalties for the Runners in Violation of Regulations
The start area, finish area and the whole route shall be closely monitored by the Organizing Committee with videos. Runners who have any of the following acts will be disqualified and will be ineligible to participate in China-ASEAN International Marathon within two years, and additional penalties for above-mentioned runners will be made by the Chinese Athletic Association.

1.        Those who sign up with false age or displaced by others after application.

2.        Those who do not wear the sportswear and race bibs as required.

3.        Those who carry others’ induction timing chips (including male runners who carry the timing chips of female runners), or those who carry more than one timing chip in the race.

4.        Those who disobey the race order and start the race at wrong position.

5.        Those who do not start at the set time or jump the gun.

6.        The coach of any player takes any vehicle into the route.

7.        Those who take shortcuts or jump into the race from halfway.

8.        Those who forge number bib or alternatively run with other runners.

9.        Those who have foul behaviors, such as hustle, stamping, charging and tripping.

10.    Those who refuse to get the souvenir by passing the finish line again as required.

11.    Those who pass the finish line for souvenirs without completing the race.

12.    Those who disobey orders from event staff.

13.    Other violations in the race will be handled in accordance with the relevant provisions of the race.

NOTE: Runners who are qualified by providing false information, or give the number bib to others, or take the place of other runners, will be responsible for their own behaviors after being confirmed by the Organizing Committee. The above-mentioned runners will be ineligible to participate in Taiyuan International Marathon for life and will be investigated for legal responsibility according to the adverse consequences caused by them.

XIII. Insurance
Hosts of the event will cover all runners and staff with personal accident insurance. Please check the Specifications of Personal Accident Insurance before the race at China-ASEAN Marathon official website or registration sites.

XIV. Others
(I) Technical Representatives, Technical Officials, Arbitrators and Referees

1.The Chinese Athletic Association will assign technical representatives, technical officials and some referees for the race.

2.The rest referees will be assigned by Sports Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Region and Cultural Committee of Fangchenggang City.

(II) Catering, Accommodation and Traffic

1. Elite runners: Transportation and accommodation of maximum 10 runners from each ASEAN country will be covered by the OC. The OC will provide accommodation to runners out of the ten. The transportation will be covered by runner him/herself.

2.Other runners will bear the costs of catering, accommodation and transportation by themselves. Tourism Department of the OC will provide help on booking hotels and transportations.

Elite runners: November 17, 2017.

Other runners: Get the competing package from November 16-18, 2017.
